Coaching

Book publishing is changing rapidly, creating new challenges and opportunities for today's authors. New technologies are giving readers unparalleled ways to access books and information, which has tremendous implications for publishers and authors.  Now more than ever, becoming a published author can be a daunting experience, but if you have the right guidance, you can avoid major bumps in the road.

A few of the questions that we hear from authors include:

- When is my platform considered "big enough"?

- Do I really need a publisher? Should I just self-publish or create an ebook?

- I don't have time to promote my book full time. What can I do to develop an audience for my book that will work with my schedule?

- How can I make my book proposal more competitive?

These are very important and valid questions;

They also the types of questions that agents don't have a lot of time to answer.  The irony of the situation is that you need to have resolved these issues before searching for an agent.

We've found that when authors take the initiative to carefully map out a plan for publishing, they're much more likely to achieve their goals.  Obvious? Yes. However it is surprising how few authors think about why they want to publish and create a plan for doing so.

With that in mind, we routinely act as mentors to authors navigating the nutty, frustrating, complicated, and exciting world of 21st century book publishing.
